BACKGROUND
Chris Honnery is experienced in administrative law, migration law, civil litigation and regulatory law. Based in Sydney, Chris appears in matters throughout Australia and is an interstate member of the Victorian Bar. He welcomes briefs including:
Oral advocacy in courts and tribunals
Preparation of legal documents and submissions
Written advices
Chris was a solicitor for almost a decade. He worked at Victoria Legal Aid, the Federal Court of Australia, and oversaw Craddock Murray Neumann’s judicial review practice representing asylum seekers on Nauru.
Chris also passed the England and Wales Bar Transfer Test in 2020 having worked at London law firms such as Hickman and Rose solicitors and the head office of international media law organisation Article 19.
Chris has particular expertise in migration matters and challenging visa-related decisions.
